Iris Releases

Questions about Iris and the apps

Getting the apps, keeping them up to date, and what Iris does with your data.

Getting the apps

Which devices does Iris work on?

iPhone, Mac, Android and Chrome, and your tv through Google Cast or AirPlay. Sign in with the same email everywhere and it is the same Iris, with the same memory. A Windows app is on its way.

How do I install Iris on my iPhone?

It comes through Apple's TestFlight app until it is in the App Store, which is planned for this winter. Install TestFlight from the App Store, then tap the iPhone beta link on okayiris.com. You need iOS 18 or later.

How do I install the Mac app?

Download it from okayiris.com; it needs macOS 15 or later. This beta is not yet checked by Apple, so the first time, right-click Iris in Applications and choose Open. Or go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway.

How do I install the Android app?

Download it from okayiris.com and open the file. Android asks once to allow installs from your browser. You need Android 11 or later.

How do I add the Chrome extension?

Until it is in the Chrome Web Store, you add it yourself. Unzip the download, open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode, top right, then drag the unzipped folder onto that page. Open the extension, type the name of your Iris (anna, if your address is anna.okayiris.com) and click Connect. Your Iris opens, and one more click on Connect this browser links them.

Using the apps

How do I sign in, or connect a new device?

On iPhone and Android, sign in with your email and the app finds your Iris. On the Mac, open your own Iris address with /connect after it (for example anna.okayiris.com/connect) and paste the pairing link it gives you. In Chrome you type the name of your Iris and click Connect twice, no codes to copy.

How do updates reach me?

On the iPhone, TestFlight brings new versions by itself, and the Mac app updates itself. For Android and Chrome, the newest version is always the download on okayiris.com. Every change is on this site.

Why is my app's version different from the one on this site?

The apps count their own versions, apart from Iris itself, so an app can say 0.2.0 while Iris is on 0.3.0.

Will Iris send me notifications?

Yes. On the iPhone her questions arrive as notifications with buttons, so you can answer without opening the app, and the ones that matter get through Focus. On Android they arrive too, even with the app closed.

How do the vault and Face ID work?

Your passwords, passkeys, two-factor codes and cards live in the vault. It opens with Face ID, Touch ID or a six-digit PIN, and locks itself after a while. Iris asks the vault to fill something in after you approve; she never reads the value herself.

About Iris

What is Iris?

A personal AI assistant you talk to. She does not stop at answers: she reads your mail, plans your week, fills in forms and books things, and asks before anything that counts.

What does Iris do without my okay?

Nothing that counts. Before she sends, pays or signs in, she asks, and you approve with Face ID on your iPhone or Touch ID on your Mac. Each approval covers exactly one action, and everything she does is in a log you can read.

Where does my data live, and who can see it?

Your Iris has her own sealed-off space on our servers in Germany, shared with no one. We do not sell data and there are no ads. To write an answer, what you say goes to an AI model, and the privacy statement names where those run.

What does it cost?

You can start free, with just your email and no card: a fair amount of use each week. Paid plans start at €5 a month, with every device included, and you can cancel any time. See every plan.

Can I start right away, or is there a waitlist?

While the first group has room, you start right away: leave your email on okayiris.com and your own Iris is ready. When it is full, you join the waitlist and we send your invite as soon as there is room.

Something does not work, or I have an idea. How do I tell you?

Use the button at the bottom of this page, or Report a problem at the top. A sentence is enough, and a screenshot helps. The people who build Iris read every note and answer by mail.
